Hi, we’re the Chins, founders of elephlay.
We're a Montessori-inspired family from Brisbane, Australia. As parents to three children under the age of five, we quickly became surrounded by clutter and toys, despite our best intentions to create a calm and semi-minimalist home.
Already tired from our day jobs, we found ourselves highly frustrated at the neverending ratwheel of tidying up the house each night after the children went to bed.
As people who prided themselves on having everything 'together' at work, we just couldn’t figure out how to get our toddlers to cooperate and maintain their play space at home (not even a little bit!).
Montessori-inspired tools
Using fit-for-purpose trays and baskets unexpectedly unlocked many positive traits in our toddlers: independence, curiosity, a growth mindset, focus and respect, to name a few.
The Montessori method, and our Montessori-inspired tools have enabled us to dream big… to put a spotlight on how something as simple as making the right tools available to your child today can lead to raising the changemakers of tomorrow.
